Who are we?
The Population and Development Project is a joint collaboration between the Ministry of Social Affairs and UNFPA. This project falls under the PD component of the 2010-2014 UNFPA Country Program and contributes to the following outcome: “A strengthened policy and institutional framework for developing and implementing strategies to reduce poverty and promote equitable economic development”.
The P&D project aims at achieving the following CP output: “Enhanced capacity to utilize data for integrating population dynamics, reproductive health and gender-equality concerns into development planning and monitoring processes, at national, sectoral and local levels”, through sets of activities that are planned on a yearly basis.
The P&D 2010 and 2011 workplans focus on the following main activities:
1. Strengthening MOSA Capacities in Integrating Ageing Issues in National Development Plans
2. Supporting policy dialogue on Ageing
3. Enhancing MOSA capacities in integrating population in development plans both centrally and peripherally.
